IMPACT! Wrestling Sacrifice Preview

Impact Sacrifice

IMPACT! Wrestling teams with Al Snows Ohio Valley Wrestling to present “Sacrifice” live this Saturday night on the Impact Plus app and FITE TV. Sacrifice is the companies latest attempt to draw fans to their monthly subscription service and I must say they are doing a great job. Producer David Sahadi has heard our cries and has worked to improve the overall production of the Impact Plus shows, starting with last months “Bash at the Brewery”. Sacrifice will hopefully continue the trend of great wrestling paired with great audio/video quality.

2019 was not a great year for Impact Plus specials. The wrestling was always pretty good, as they have a great roster and teamed with strong independent promotions to put on their shows, but the production was always a nightmare. A large company like Impact should never produce anything below their standards and time after time their Impact Plus and Twitch specials come across as very low effort content with how poor the production was. In fact last year during Bound For Glory weekend, their biggest of the year, they aired a Twitch show filmed with Josh Matthews cell phone. But that’s Twitch and while my advice to anyone in business is to never put your name on anything that is beneath you, Twitch shows are free and are just a way to get the roster more dates and discover new talent. Impact Plus shows cost money and there never should be an excuse to charge a fan money for some of the poor production we saw on those shows in 2019.

Building Impact Plus Specials on TV?

The biggest change we have seen with the build for Sacrifice, is that Impact is actually building the show on TV, something they have not done before. The main event of Ace Austin vs Tessa Blanchard has been building for weeks and has developed quite nicely. Ace plays a great smarmy heel and Tessa is great in her role as dignified champion. The co-main event of Moose and Rhino have also continued their feud building off their excellent match at Hard to Kill in January. Also very interesting is the pairing of Acey Romero and Larry D as they take on Fulton and Dave Crist. Could we see Larry and Romero as a regular tag team? Time will tell. Overall the card looks solid up and down and the crowd in the Davis Arena in Louisville is always really good.

What to Watch For?

The North and the Rascals will be looking to steal the show this weekend. They always work well together. Jordynne Grace and Havoc will be looking to make a statement here as well.

Sleeper Match

Don’t sleep on Jay Bradley vs Willie Mack. Jay is a veteran heavyweight who would be a great asset to any company. All companies lack depth in the HOSS department and this big man can go. Willie of course, kicks ass every time he is on TV and I would expect nothing less.

Full Card

Johnny Swinger vs Joey Ryan

The only criticism I have is that if you read the spoilers for the Vegas tapings last weekend, you already know what’s about to happen in the title matches. The next step would be for Impact to tape shows 1 month at a time, building to their monthly specials. They taped 6 weeks of TV prior to this weekends show and it really takes some of the steam out of the event. Despite all that the show should be really good and I will have a full review here.

Order the show here on Impact Plus via the FITE app. New subscribers can sign up for a free month.
