Pro Wrestling Free Agency Tracker

We are just over a month away from the single biggest cut to the WWE talent roster in history, and as July 15th approaches, which is the day that the 90 day non-compete windows (30 for NXT releases) close, I have decided to start a running blog tracking all the movements, news, and rumors surrounding the current free agents in Pro Wrestling. Names are still popping up as being released and talent has been linked all over the place. Bang it here for daily updates.

June 3rd: Impact Making More Moves

The world buzzing about Impact Wrestling after last nights shocking Slammiversary teaser video featuring several Free Agents. Clues to Rusev, EC3, Eric Young, Spud, Anderson and Gallows, and Mike and Maria Bennett all made it to the video in some fashion. I doubt all of them sign here and there may be some misdirection going on. But it’s definitely intriguing and generating some buzz.

Despite it looking like Drake Maverick (Spud) has re-signed with WWE, he was even featured in the video. Impact is definitely keeping people guessing. If they fail to deliver big here at the PPV it could be a disaster. I’m assuming they have agreements with most of the people in the video.

May 27: Purazzo Lands With Impact Wrestling

Recently released NXT Star Deonna Purrazzo has signed with Impact Wrestling. Impact is taping in Nashville this week and former NXT stars are now available since they were on 3 day non-competes, unlike the main roster talents were are on 90 day restrictions. Tay Conti is also being linked to Impact but theres nothing confirmed at this point beyond Twitter rumors.

May 25th Update:

According to Dave Meltzer, Drew Gulak has re-signed with WWE.

Theres some smoke out there linking released NXT talent Taynara Conti to Impact. The company is taping this week and her 30 day non-compete is up as we speak. Timing could work out and Impact would be a great landing spot for her. Deonna Purrazzo and Rachel Ellering could conceivably appear this week too. Theres actual smoke for Conti though.

NWA’s Ricky Starks Announces Free Agency

Ricky Starks in an interview with Busted Open Radio announced that he has mutually parted ways with the NWA and has entered in to Free Agency. His contract expired, much like newly signed Impact KO Tasha Steelz. Rumor is NWA contracts are only for 6 months at a time. This is obviously a rough time for wrestlers to be free agents as there are tons of big name talent on the market. Ricky should land on his feet quickly though as he is a young up and comer that won’t *yet* command a high salary. Any of the top companies would be happy to have him. I could see both AEW and Impact making a play for him since they are still running. Also, check out his awesome tweet below.

Drew Gulak No Longer With WWE

According to PWInsider Drew Gulaks contract has expired and he is no longer with the company. Various reports are saying that there was a negotiation taking place and Gulak has asked for more money. WWE pulled their offer and has opted to not re-sign him. Gulak is a really good wrestler and will land on his feet, but not sure why he thought he could get a raise after Black Wednesday. WWE is looking to cut costs, not add to them, and as solid as Gulak is in the ring, I am not sure WWE ever made a profit because of him.

11 May: Sting No Longer With WWE; Linked to AEW

Sting’s WWE contract has expired and rumors are swirling that he may be negotiating with AEW.

Gallows and Anderson linked to IMPACT

In an article I wrote a couple weeks ago, The Good Brothers appears to be negotiating with IMPACT

Apr 20: Chris Hero aka Kassius Ohno Released from NXT

Dave Meltzer reports that Kassius Ohno has been released from his NXT contract and will be back on the scene as Chris Hero.

Apr 17th: Taynara Conti Released

Wrestling Inc reports that NXT wrestler Taynara Conti has been released. The Brazilian star is another person whoa had previously asked to be released months ago before ultimately agreeing to stick around. Well now shes gone.

Deonna Purazzo added to the list of names released.

Bleacher Report reports that NXT Stars Deonna Purrazzo and Alexsandar Jaksic have been released. Purazzo had been trying to get out of her contract for quite some time.
